<aside> ♠️ You’ve decided and gotten a budget to do a grants program. This document outlines the various elements of a grants program and how you can set one up for your region.

“Frontend”: grant program info page

To start, you need all the information about the grants program on a single page. This can be on the Superteam notion (e.g., https://superteam.fun/instagrants/solana-foundation-india-grants), on Earn (https://earn.superteam.fun/grants/recDcQx1GF83BU2VL), or on any nice shareable URL which can have links. A good information page should have the following information:

  1. Objectives: Why you’re running the grant program
  2. Projects: RFPs and broad categories of the grant projects you’re looking to fun.
  3. Samples: Previous grant recipients (if any) for reference
  4. Payout schedule: Set expectations right about payout cycles, milestone based payments, etc.

“Interface”: grant application form

This is where people apply for the grant program. Two main factors to balance here — keeping the application form short while capturing sufficient information to take a decision without further comms.

Decisions: approval and rejection process

Have the applications show up wherever you and your team in whatever you and your team’s workspace is — Slack, Discord, Email, etc. Upon receiving a new application you have a few options:

  1. accept it as is
  2. reject it
  3. accept for a modified amount and let them choose to claim it
  4. reach out to the applicant, discuss modifying amount and scope and ask them to re-apply.
